In the Name of God Amen I William Leadbeter of Holwell in the county of Leicester Grasier being of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding praised be almighty God for the same and considering the Uncertainty of this Life and the certainty of Death do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say

In the first place I resign my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator who Gave it me and my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently Buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter Named

And as for such Temporal Estate as it hath please Almighty God to bestow upon me I Give Devise and bequeath of the same as follows that is to say

In the first place I Give and bequeath unto my Son John Leadbeter and unto my Nephew Thomas Leadbeter the sum of One Hundred and Forty pounds In trust that they the said John Leadbeter and Thomas Leadbeter do as soon as convenienty may be after my Decease place the same out at Interest and the Interest and produce thereof pay unto my Daughter Sarah Dexter for and during the Term of her Natural Life for her Sole and separate use and Maintenance and wherewith her Husband John Dexter shall in no wise Intermedle nor shall the same be any ways subject or lyable to his Debts forfeitures or Engagements but that my said Daughter Sarah Dexters receipt shall be a sufficient discharge to the said John Leadbeter and Thomas Leadbeter for the same Notwithstanding her Coverture and from and after her Decease I will and direct that the said John Leadbeter and Thomas Leadbeter shall pay the said principal Sum of One Hundred and Forty pounds and all Interest that shall be due for the same at the time of her Death unto and Amongst such of her Children as shall be Living at the time of her Death share and share alike

Also I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Cross the Sum of Threescore pounds to be paid her within twelve Months after my Decease

Also I Give unto my Grandson William Cross the Sum of Forty pounds to be paid him when and as soon as he shall attain his age of One and Twenty Years but in case my said Grandson William Cross shall depart this Life before he Attains his Age of One and Twenty Years then I give the said Legacy of him so Dying to be Equally divided to and Amongst such Other of my said Daughter Elizabeth Crosses Children as shall be Living at the time of his Death

Also I Give and bequeath unto my Grandson John Cross and unto my three Grandaughters Mary Elizabeth and Alice Cross the Sum of Ten pounds apiece to be paid them at their severall and respective Ages of One and Twenty years but in case any of them shall happen to Dye before he she or they Attain their said Ages of One and Twenty years then I Give the Legacy of him her or them so Dying unto the Survivor or Survivors of them Equally

Also I Give and bequeath unto my Grandsons William Leadbeter and John Leadbeter and unto my Grandaughter Sarah Leadbeter the Sum of Ten pounds apeice to be paid them as they Attain their several and respective ages of One and Twenty Years but in case any of them should happen to Depart this Life before he she or they should attain their several and respective Ages of One and Twenty Years Then I Give the Legacy of him her or them so Dying unto the Survivor or Survivors of them Equally

Also I Give and bequeath unto my son John Leadbeter my Best Bed and Beding belonging to the said bed

Also all the rest of my Household Goods I Give and bequeath unto my Son John Leadbeter and unto my Daughters Elizabeth Cross and Sarah Dexter to be Equally divided to and Amongst them

All the rest of my Goods Chattles Chattle and personal Estate of what Nature kind or Quality soever the same is my Debts Legacys and Funeral Expences being first thereout paid and discharged I Give and bequeath unto my Son John Leadbeter whom I doe hereby appoint full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoaking all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made declaring this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said William Leadbeter the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament Containing two Sheets of paper sett my Hand and Seal to each sheet this Thirtieth day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty two
