Kelham Thomas 1777 of Wartnaby Inventory

Thomas Kelham of Wartnaby 1777 Inventory

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Archives, Leicestershire Wills and Probate Records

The following inventory is undated but on the outside 1746 has been written in pencil, since pencil was used probably by the Archives staff.  There is a Thomas Kelham will for 1746 but that includes a dated inventory to which this one bears no resemblance.  This inventory also refers to relict Elizabeth proving the will but no such person is referred to in the 1746 will so this later added date would seem to be a mistake.  This is in a series of inventories from a variety of dates so they give no clue.  There were only two burials of a Thomas Kelham [allowing for various spellings of surname] in Wartnaby, the one in 1746 and one on 13 December 1777, so we have treated this inventory as relating to the 1777 burial.  The only burial of an Elizabeth Kelham in Wartnaby was of Elizabeth widow and pauper buried 26 January 1792, though we have done no research to see whether Thomas’ widow had remarried.
