The 4th day of December in the year 1834

I John Jones, BD Curate of Ab Kettleby in the County of Leicester, being of perfect mind and memory, and first all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth, to be buried in a decent Christian burial

I give and bequeath to my son John Jones the sum one shilling

I give to my beloved daughter Anna Maria Leigh the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of England and all my household furniture Tea and Table silver Spoons books and manuscripts and to my grand daughter Anna Maria Leigh the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of England

I make constitute and ordain my beloved daughter Anna Maria Leigh my sole exetrix of this my last will and testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above-written

Let a probat be granted to Anna Maria Leigh of Eden Bridge in the County of Kent widow sole Executrix named in the will of the Revd John Jones who died at Ab Kettleby on the first of May last

She the said Anna Maria Leigh being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will, as that the Testators Goods, Chattels & Credits as they were at his death without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the sum of three hundred pounds

In the Court of the Commissary of the Lord Bishop of Lincoln for the Archdeaconry of Leicester Appeared personally Charles Blagdon of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Surgeon and Apothecary and made oath that at the request of some relations of the Reverend John Jones Clerk Bachelor in divinity late Curate of Ab Kettleby in the said County of Leicester he did open the last Will and testament of the said deceased hereunto annexed and marked with the letter (A) and that he read the same after the funeral of the deceased to the parties interested And the Deponent further maketh oath and saith that the said Will was deposited in a box belonging to the deceased where he kept his Cash and that on opening the said Will he observed that the same was affixed together with wafers and that the said Will is in the same state plight and condition as when opened by this Deponent

On the twenty sixth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty one/two the said Charles Blagden was sworn at Long Clawson in the County of Leicester to the truth of the aforegoing affidavit
