Richard Johnson of Hose 1794 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Richard Johnson of Hose in the County of Leicester Labourer being of sound and disposing mind memory and Understanding do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following

First I will that all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences be paid and satisfied by my Executrix hereinafter named

I Give and Devise unto my Dear and Loving Wife Dorothy Johnson All and every my messuages Lands Commons and Hereditaments with their appurtenances situate standing lying and being in Woolsthorpe in Parish of Colsterworth in the County of Lincoln as the same now are or late were in the Tenure or occupation of James Rippin his Undertenants or Assigns To hold the same with the Appurtenances unto my said Wife Dorothy Johnson and her Assignes for and during the Term of her Natural Life and from and immediately after her decease I Give and Devise the same Messuage Lands Commons and Hereditaments with their Appurtenances unto my Youngest Son Samuel Johnson and to this Heirs and Assignes for ever Subject nevertheless to and charged and Chargeable with the several Legacies hereinafter mentioned

I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Johnson the sum of Two pounds and ten Shillings

I also Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Dorothy Johnson the sum of Fifteen pounds and likewise one Feather Bed and Bedding

I also Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Johnson the sum of Fifteen Pounds

And I also Give and Bequeath unto my Eldest Son Henry Johnson the sum of Two pounds and Ten shillings

All which said several Legacies or Sums of Money I will and direct shall be paid unto my said Daughters Elizabeth Dorothy Ann and Son Henry respectively by my said Son Samuel Johnson out of my said messuages Lands Commons and Hereditaments within Twelve months next after the Decease of my said Wife Dorothy Johnson And I do hereby Charge and make Chargeable my said Messuages Lands Commons and Hereditament with the Appurtenances with the payment of the same accordingly

All my Goods Cattle Chattels Ready Money and Securities for Money and all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever after payment of my Debts and Funeral Expences I Give and Bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said Wife Dorothy Johnson her Executors or Administrators And I do hereby make Constitute and Appoint my said Wife Dorothy Johnson sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this Twenty Ninth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven

Let probat be granted to Dorothy Johnson the sole Executrix within named, she being sworn to the due execution thereof, & also made oath that the whole of the late deceased’s personal estate did not amount, at the time of his death, to one hundred pounds
