James Jarvis of Stathern 1679 Will and Inventory

In the name of God Amen the Twenty fourth day of August 1679 according to the Computation of the Church of England I James Jarvis of Stathorne in the County of Leicester yeoman being of perfect memory and remembrance praised be god doe make and ordaine this my Last will and Testament in manner and forme following viz
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hopeing that through the Meritorious death and Passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sinnes And as for my body to be buried in Christian buriel att the discreshion of my Executor here after nominated
Item I give unto my sonne Thomas Jarvis my dwelling house and homested and halfe oxgange of Land to him and his heires for ever Provided that he suffer his brother George Serson [Sarson] peaceably and quietly to enioye the dwelling house and halfe oxgang of land for the terme of five yeares next after my decease payeing to him tenn shilling a yeare during the terme of five yeares and if the said Thomas Jarvis shall refusse to suffer the said George Serson peaceably to enioye the said dwelling house and halfe oxgange of land that then the said Thomas Jarvis shall paye unto the said George Serson upon his removing the sume of tenne pounds
Item my will is that if my sonne Thomas Jarvis shall die without yssue I give my dwelling house and homested unto Issabel Serson the daughter of George Serson to her and heir heires for ever
Item I give to my daughter Anne Jarvis five pounds of Currant English money to be payed the eleventh day of November next after my decease
Item I give unto my daughter Brigett five pounds of Currant English money to be payed one yeare after my decease
Item I give to my sonne Thomas Jarvis one ewe
Item I give unto Issabel Serson the daughter of George Serson one Lame
Item I unto my daughter Anne Jarvis the seell bed in the Parlour and one paire of flaxon sheets
Item I give unto my daughter Brigitt Jarvis one paire of flaxon sheets
Item all the rest of my goods I give unto George Serson payeing all my debts and legacies I make him sole Executor of this my last will and Testament revokeing all other wills and Testaments
In wittness whereof I hereunto sett my hand and seal the day and yeare above written
