Richard Hourd of Hose 1858 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Hourd of Hose Lodge in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I Direct the Payment of all my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expenses out of my Personal Estate by my Son Joseph

I give devise and bequeath unto my Eldest Son Richard the Sum of £100 sterling

I give devise and bequeath unto my Son William the Mill stable and appurtenances thereto belonging situated in the Parish of Hickling in the County of Nottingham

I Give devise and bequeath unto my youngest son Joseph The House, Buildings and Land Farming implements stock and all other my real and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever He paying thereout the following Legacy and Annuities which I give devise and bequeath in manner following

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the sum of £400 to be Paid out of the Land by my said son Joseph on her attaining the age of Twenty one years and that from and after my decease the Interest of the said £400 shall be paid to her for her maintenance and benefit until she attain the age of 21 years Provided likewise that so Long as she continues to have her maintenance with my said Son Joseph then she shall be paid £5 per Annum for Clothes and Pocket Money instead of the interest of the said £400

I likewise give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary The Furniture in the Best Chamber and also her own Little Bed

I Give and bequeath unto my Dear Wife the sum of £25 per annum for her Maintenance and benefit to be Paid to her quarterly so Long as she remains my Widow unless she chooses to reside in the House with my said Son Joseph

I likewise give and bequeath unto her so much of the Household Furniture as she may deem necessary for her comfort and benefit Provided she does not continue to reside with my said Son Joseph

And further I direct that Provided she marries again my said son Joseph shall then Pay her only £10 per annum instead of £25 as afore directed for the Term of her natural Life

And I further direct that should my Daughter Mary die before she attains the age of 21 years leaving no Lawful issue Then her share and benefit under this my Will shall be equally divided among my surviving children

And lastly I nominate and appoint my said Wife Executrix and my said son Joseph Executor jointly of this my Will Declaring this to be by Last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of August One thousand eight hundred and fifty six
