Thomas Hoe of Long Clawson 1848 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Hoe of the Parish of Claxton or Long Clawson in the County of Leicester, Clerk, Vicar of that Parish and of Kinoulton in the County of Nottingham, being of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, do hereby make and publish my last Will and Testament

First and principally I commend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it, hoping for Eternal Life through Faith in my Redeemer, and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named

I give and bequeath all my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever to my Son Markham Deverill Hoe for his own use and disposal, save and except the Sum of Fifty Pounds which I bequeath to my Son Stephen Hoe, payable in five equal half-yearly instalments of Ten Pounds each, the first of such instalments to be paid within six months after my decease And I hereby express my reliance on the fraternal affection of my said Son Markham to evince such kindness to his Brother Stephen and to afford such further assistance to him and his family from time to time as circumstances may require of permit

And prayerfully commending both my said Sons to the Blessing of Almighty God, I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Son Markham Deverill Hoe sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, and I revoke all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set and subscribed my Hand and Seal this twenty third day of December in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Three

Markham Deverill Hoe of Long Clawson in the county of Leicester Farmer the sole executor in this will named was duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual and that the goods chattels & credits of the deceased without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds and that the deceased died on the 10th day of March last past
