In the name of god Amen I Thomas Hoe of Claxton als Clauston in the Countie of Leceister husbandman, beinge sicke of bodie, but of perfect & good memorye (praysed be god) this 20th daye of Marche in the yeares of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lorde James by the grace of god, of Englande, France and Irelande, Kinge defender of the faith &c the seventh & of Scotlande the towe & fourtieth, doe make and ordayne this my last will & testament in manner followinge

Imprimis I give & bequeave my soule to god that gave it, and my bodie to bee buryed in the Church yarde of the parishe Church of Claxton aforesayed

Itim I give to the poore of Claxton vis viiid

Itim I give to the Church of Claxton aforesd or the bels iiis 4d

Itim I give to Richarde Holt my grande Childe, a baye Colt

Itim I give to William Holt my grand Childe xs

Itim I give unto my grande Childe Henrye Holt xs

Itim I give & bequeave unto Margarett Holt theire syster a Cowe when she Commeth to the age of 21tie years

Itim I give unto my brother John Hoe at Outhroppe xxs

Itim I give unto my brother James Hoe at Aslockton xs

Itim I give and bequeave unto [missing whose son] sonne Peter Hoe xiid

Itim I give and bequeave unto my sonne John Hoe xiid

Itim I give and bequeave unto Elizabeth Hoe the daughter of John Hoe xs

Itim I give & bequeave unto my daughter Ann Hoe 4 Kyne & 20tie sheepe at the daye of her marriage, also I give her halfe my lynnens & woollens & halfe puter & brasse throughout, and a Carboarde

Itim I will that she have her abode & finding with her brother Thomas Hoe untill she marrye

Itim I give unto the Childe which my daughter Margarett goeth with, if it please god to send it life and healthe, 2 Ewes & 2 lambes

Itim I give & bequeave unto Thomas Marriatt the elder xiid

Itim I give unto Thomas Wright our Vicar xiid

They rest of all my goods moveable & unmoveable whatsoever unbequeaved and also my house, & all my lande, freehould & leeses, nowe in my tenure & occupation I give and bequeave unto my Eldest sonne Thomas Hoe, & to his heires males lawfullie begotten of his bodie for ever, & for want of such heires males then to the heires males of my sonne Peter Hoe, & for want of heires male lawfullye begotten of the bodie of the sd Peter, then to the heires males of my youngest sonne John Hoe, & for want of such heires males, then to the lawfull heire male of mee the sd Thomas Hoe for ever

Lastlye I make and ordayne my sonne Thomas Hoe sole & full executor of this my last will & testament

Itim I make Thomas Wright Clearke & my Cosen Thomas Marriatt overseers of this my last will and testament
