Richard Hoe of Hose 1824 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Hoe of Hose Lodge in the County of Leicester Farmer and Grazier as follows

First I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expenses to be fully paid

I Give and bequeath unto my affectionate Wife Ann Hoe and her assigns for and during such part of her natural life as she shall continue my widow One Annuity or clear Yearly Sum of Fourteen pounds of lawful English money which I will shall be paid half yearly namely on the sixth day of April and the Eleventh day of October in every year the first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said half yearly days as shall first happen after my decease and I hereby Subject and charge all my Personal Estate and Effects hereinafter given and  bequeathed to my Son Thomas Hoe with the just and true payment thereof

Also I Give to my said Wife the sum of Ten pounds to be paid to her immediately after my decease And also I Give to my said Wife all the furniture in the Parlour and in the Parlour Cupboard as also such part of my Household goods she my said Wife brought with her upon our marriage to be delivered to her immediately after my decease and to be for her own use and benefit And it is my express will and desire that Two rooms shall be provided for my said Wife to Dwell in for her life the rent of which shall be paid by my said Son Thomas Hoe out of my said Personal Estate

Likewise I Give to my said Wife all my Linen to be delivered to her immediately after my decease

I Give and bequeath unto my Son Robert Hoe the Sum of Thirty pounds, unto my Son William Hoe the Sum of ten pounds, Unto my Son Richard Hoe the Sum of One shilling, unto my daughter Mary Shelton the Sum of Thirty pounds, unto my daughter Ann Goodall the Sum of Thirty pounds, unto my daughter Elizabeth Barrows the sum of Twenty five pounds, unto my daughter Sarah Stevens the Sum of Thirty pounds, unto my Grandson Thomas Carter the sum of Thirty Two pounds and unto my Grandson William Carter the Sum of Thirty two pounds which said several legacies I will shall be paid to them and each of them within twelve months after my decease

I Give and bequeath unto my Grandson William Darby and my Granddaughter Elizabeth Darby the sum of Twenty pounds apiece which I will shall be paid to them and each of them when and as they shall severally attain their ages of Twenty one years But in case either of them shall happen to die under the Age of Twenty one years Then the legacy of him or her so dying shall be paid to the Survivor his or her Executors or Administrators

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be (subject to the payment of my just debts the said annuity legacies funeral and Testamentary expenses) I Give and bequeath the same unto my Son Thomas Hoe his Executors Administrators and assigns And I do hereby appoint him sole Executor of this my last Will and testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by mem made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of October One thousand eight hundred and Twenty Two

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Richard Hoe as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as witnesses to the due Execution thereof

Let a probat be made to Thomas Hoe of Hose Leicester Farmer & Grazier the sole Executor named in the will of the within named Richard Hoe who died 21 July 1824

He being first duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the will as that the testators goods chattels & Credits as they were at his death without deducting any Debts owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of four hundred and fifty pound
