John Hitchcock of Harby 1877 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hitchcock of Harby in the County of Leicester Wheelwright

I give and bequeath unto my Son Otho Hitchcock now residing in Africa the Legacy or Sum of Fifty pounds together with my Silver Watch and Wearing Apprarell to be paid and delivered to him at the expiration of Six Calendar Months after my decease by my Executor hereinafter named

I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the Wife of John Dean of Leicester Plumber and Glazier the Legacy or Sum of Thirty pounds to be paid to her at the expiration of Six Calendar Months after my decease

I give and devise all my real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto the said John Dean his heirs and assigns Upon trust to sell the same as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

And after payment thereout of any Mortgage that may be existing thereon at the time of my death and the expenses attending such sale to divide the residue of the money equally between my Son John and my Daughter Elizabeth as Tenants in Common

And as to for and concerning the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever Subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the Legacies by me above given I give and bequeath the same unto my said Son John and my Daughter Elizabeth to be divided equally between them as Tenants in Common

And lastly I appoint the said John Dean sole Executor of this Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of November in the year One thousand eight hundred and sixty six

The Testator John Hitchcock was late of Harby in the County of Leicester Wheelwright and died on the Fifth day of November 1876 at Harby aforesaid
