In the name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me William Hilton of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I direct all my just debts to be paid by my Executors hereinafter named as soon conveniently may be after my decease

I Give and Devise all my Close Piece or Parcels of Land with the hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging situate and lying in Harby in the said County of Leicester containing about six acres now in my own possession unto my Eldest Son John Hilton his heirs and assigns for ever

I Give and Devise all that my Messuage Dwellinghouse or Tenement with the Butchers Shop Stable Garden land and Hereditaments situate lying and being in Stathern aforesaid now in the possession of John Barnes unto my Youngest Son William Hilton his heirs and assigns for ever

I Give the Tenant right and possession of my Farms at Stathern aforesaid and at Boothby in the County of Lincoln together with my live and dead Stock upon the said Farms ready money securities for money and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said two Sons John Hilton and William Hilton equally share and share alike, Subject to the Payment of the following Legacies to my five Daughters namely, To my Daughters Mary Whittle, Elizabeth Hilton, Ann Hilton and Margaret Hilton two hundred and fifty Pounds apiece, and to my Daughter Dorothy Greensmith Fifty pounds only I having already advanced and given her Two hundred Pounds and having already given my son Thomas Hilton his fortune The said Legacies to be paid at the end of twelve Months next after my decease

And I appoint my said two Sons John Hilton and William Hilton joint Executors of this my Will and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and twenty

Let a probat be granted to John Hilton of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer & Grazier & William Hilton of Boothby in the County of Lincoln Farmer & Grazier joint Executors named in the Will of William Hilton who died at Stathern on the 26th day of April 1823 They the said John Hilton & William Hilton being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the Will as that the Testator’s Goods Chattles & Credits as they were at this death without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the sum of two thousand pounds
