Francis Hickling of Scalford 1790 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Francis Hickling of Scalford in the County of Leicester Grazier made this second day of February in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and ninety

First I direct that all such Debts as I shall justly owe at the time of my decease and my funeral Charges and Expences shall be paid and satisfied by my Executor hereinafter named

I Give and Bequeath unto my dear and loving Wife Alice Hickling one Annuity or clear Yearly Sum of Five Pounds of Lawful Money of Great Britain to be Paid by my said Executor to my said Wife Yearly and every Year during her Natural Life by four quarterly Payments in every Year (that is to say) the Feast of the Annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary Saint John the Baptist Saint Michael the Arch Angel and Saint Thomas the Apostle by even and equal Portions the first Payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said Feast days as shall first and next happen after my decease and I do hereby Charge and make Chargeable all and every my Personal Estate with the Payment of the said Yearly Sum of Five Pounds to my said Wife as aforesaid

I also Give and Bequeath unto my said Wife Alice Hickling the Sum of Thirty Pounds to be Paid to her by my said Executor within Twelve Months next after my decease

I also Give and Bequeath unto Francis Snow John Snow Thomas Snow Richard Snow Sarah Snow Mary Snow and Alice Snow the Children of my late Daughter Ann Snow deceased One Guinea each to be paid to them when they shall arrive to the Age of Twenty one Years by my said Executor or at any sooner period if my said Executor shall think proper

I also Give and Bequeath unto my Daughters Sarah Dunsmore Elizabeth Hickling Alice Hickling and Mary Hickling the Sum of One Hundred and twenty pounds apiece to be paid to them by my said Executor within twelve Months next after my decease

I also Give and Bequeath unto Jane Steel the Sum of Five pounds to be paid to her by my said Executor within twelve Months next after my Decease

And as to for and Concerning All the rest and residue of my Goods Cattle Chattles ready Money Securitys for Money and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever I Give and Bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my Son Richard Hickling whom I do hereby Make Ordain Constitute and appoint Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the day and Year first above written

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who at his request and in his Presence have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereunto and the interlineation of the bequest to Jane Steel having been first made before the execution hereof
