Thomas Hart of Long Clawson 1858 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Hart Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Collar and Harness Maker

I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expenses to be fully paid

I Give and Devise All that my Dwelling House with yard Garden Orchard Homestead and appurtenances thereto belonging And also All that Close or Ground enclosed containing five Acres more or less called Short Crofts And also All that moiety or equal half part or share the whole into two equal parts or shares to be divided of and in All those three Closes of Land containing Ten acres or thereabouts the whole situate standing lying and being in the Lordship or Liberties of Long Clawson aforesaid in my own occupation And all other my Real Estate with their Appurtenances Unto my Nephew Thomas Hart the Son of my Brother Richard his heirs and assigns for ever

I also Give and bequeath unto my said Nephew Thomas Hart All my Personal Estate and Effects of every kind of which I shall die possessed for his own use and benefit absolutely

I Give Unto my Nephew Richard Hart the legacy or Sum of Three Hundred Pounds And Unto my three Nieces Ann Swain Frances Hart and Mary Hart I Give the legacy or Sum of One hundred pounds apiece to be paid twelve months after my decease And I subject and charge all my Real and Personal Estate with the true payment thereof

I direct my Executor to pay to my present Housekeeper Hannah Wildman provided she is living with me at my Death One years Wages of Twelve Pounds

I also Give to my said Housekeeper if so living with me the legacy or Sum of Nineteen Pounds and Nineteen Shillings

And Lastly I do appoint my said Nephew Thomas Hart Sole Executor of this my last Wil and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this eighth day of April 1856

Signed published and declared by the said Testator Thomas Hart as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us all present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have set our hands as witnesses to the due Execution thereof
