John Harby of Harby 1809 Will

In the name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me John Harby of Harby in the County of Leicester Husbandman

First I will and direct that all my just Debts be well and truly paid by my Executor herein after named

And I give and devise all my Messuages Tenements Closes Lands and Grounds and all my real Estate situate standing and being in Harby aforesaid or elsewhere to my Nephew John Harby and his Heirs and Assigns for ever

And I give and bequeath to my Brother Joseph Harby the sum of five shillings

Also I give and bequeath to my Nephew Joseph Harby the sum of five shillings

Also I give and bequeath to my Niece Elizabeth Shilcock the sum of twenty pounds

And Lastly I give and bequeath All the Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels Cattle Plate Linen Ready Money Securities for Money and all my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever (Subject to the payment of all my just Debts my Funeral and Testamentary expences) unto my said Nephew John Harby Whom I do hereby make constitute and appoint whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made and do hereby ratify and declare this and none other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said John Harby have to this my said last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this fifteenth Day of July in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seven

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Harby as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses to the due execution thereof

Let a probat be granted to John Harby the sole Executor within named – He the said John Harby being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will as that the Testator’s goods Chattels & Credits do not amount in value to the sum of 300 Pounds
