John Hand of Long Clawson 1831 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hand of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Yeoman

First I direct my Debts Funeral and Testamentary expences be fully paid

I Give and Devise all that Messauge or Tenement Yard Outbuildings Homestead and Hereditaments situate and being in Long Clawson aforesaid with the appurtenances and in my own possession unto my Daughter Elizabeth Hand her Heirs and assigns for ever

All my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever (subject to my Debts Funeral and testamentary expenses) I bequeath unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Hand her Executors and Administrators and appoint my said Daughter Sole Executrix of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty five

Signed sealed published and delivered by the said John Hand the testator as such for his last Will and testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as Witnesses to the due execution thereof

Let a Probate be made to Elizabeth the wife of John Worsley of Kilby in the County of Leicester Framework knitter (formerly Elizabeth Hand Spinster) the sole Executrix named in the will of the deceased who died on the 3rd July last.

She having been duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the testator’s Goods Chattels and Credits without deducting any debts owing by the deceased therefrom did not amount in value to the Sum of One hundred Pounds
