Edward Hallam of Hose 1710 Will and Inventory

In the fear of God I Edward Hallam of Hose in the County of Leicester Yeoman being in perfect mind & Memory Blessed be God Therefore But Considering the Mortallity of this Body and for the Disposing of that Estate and Substance in this World that it hath pleased the Lord to bestow upon me and for the keeping peace and Quietness Among my Children & Survivors after my Decease do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner & form following (That is to say)

As for the Burial of my body I do Leave to the Discretion of my Executor whom I shall hereafter nominate and appoint

Item I Give to my Son William Hallam for his Childs part or portion one Shilling to be truly paid to him within one year after my Decease

Item I do Give to my Daughter Dorothy Marriott for her Childs part or portion Two Shillings & her three Children each one Shill [sic] apeece to be paid to them within one year after my Decease

Item I do Give to my son Edward Hallam for his Childs part or portion my House and Homestead in Hose together with all Houses out houses & backsides with Appurtenances thereunto belonging paying Twenty Pounds out of the same House & Homestead to my Daughter Eliz: Hallam which I give her for her Childs part or portion to be truly paid to her within one year After my Decease & Also I do give to my said Daughter Eliz: Hallam that part or moiety of houseall Goods  which her mother did desire for her with full power peaceably to remove and take away within three months after my Decease

Item I doe Give unto my Daughter Mary Hallam Twenty Pounds to be truly paid to her within one year after my Decease out of the said House hereby given to Edwd Hallam Junr and also I do Give to my said Daughter Mary Hallam that part or moiety of houseall Goods, which her Mother did Desire for her with full power peaceably to remove and take away within three months after my decease

Item I do Give unto my Son Isaac Hallam ten Pounds  five Pounds to be paid within one year after my Decease and the other Five Pounds to be truly paid within three years after my Decease & one bed and Beding & if one or more of my said Children should decease before the Said Leguice or Leguices shall become due or payable and Leave Isue them my will is that such Leguice or Leguices shall be Equally divided and given to such child or Children of the deceased Aforesd

Lastly I do Give to my Son Thomas Hallam and to his heirs and Assignes all my Personall Estate whatever and one peece of meadow Ground in Linlands and ten Sheep Comons from St Mathew to Martlemass day in the open field he Dayly paying my Just debts Discharge my aforesd Leguices (except before excepted forty pounds) and defray my Funeral Expences and I do Ordain Constitute and appoint him my said Son Thos Hallam Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament & do hereby declare all other wills and Testaments to be utterly voyd and of none Effect, & to this my last Will and Testament I have here sett my hand and Seal this Twenty first day of the fourth Month Called June in the year of our Lord & one Thousand Seven hundred and Ten
