This is the last William and Testament of me William Grice of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Gentleman

I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid by me Executrix hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I devise all those my two Closes of Land called the Top Pasture Close and the Elses Nook situate at Nether Broughton aforesaid and containing about Nine acres unto my Sister Maria Grice for and during her life without impeachment of waste subject to her paying thereout for the maintenance and education of my Niece Annie Grice during her minority and from and after the decease of my said Sister Maria I devise the said two Closes unto my Nephews Thomas Freck and Henry Grice In trust to receive the rents and profits thereof and to apply the same for and towards the maintenance and education of the said Annie Grice during her minority and when and so soon as she shall attain the age of twenty one years then In trust for the said Annie Grice her heirs and assigns for ever

I give and devise all those my five Cottages with the appurtenances situate at Broughton Sulney in the County of Nottingham unto my Sister Elizabeth Pollard for and during her life and from and after her decease I give and devise the said five Cottages unto my Nephew William Pollard his heirs and assigns for ever

I give and devise all that my Messuage or Dwellinghouse with the appurtenances situate at Old Radford in the said County of Nottingham unto  my Neece Elizabeth Freck the Wife of Thomas Freck her heirs and assigns subject to and I hereby charge the same with the payment sum of One hundred pounds to my Nephew the said William Pollard

I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Joseph Hopkin the Legacy or sum of Nineteen Guineas Unto my Nephew Henry Grice the legacy or sum of Nineteen Guineas Unto my Niece Fanny Grice the Legacy or sum of Nineteen Guineas and to my Niece Emma Grice the Legacy or sum of Fifty pounds and also my Watch with the chain and seals attached thereto

I give and bequeath the residue of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Niece the said Elizabeth Freck for her absolute use and benefit And I appoint the said Elizabeth Freck Sole Executrix of this my Will and devise to her her heirs and assigns all Mortgaged and trust Estates vested in me upon trusts and subject to the equities affecting the same respectively

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Eighth day of April One thousand eight hundred and seventy

Signed by the said William Grice as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us two Witnesses present at the same time who subscribe and attest the same in his presence and that of each other

Proved at Leicester the Seventeenth day of December 1870 by the Oath of Elizabeth Freck (Wife of Thomas Freck) Niece of the deceased the sole Executrix to whom administration was granted

The Testator William Grice was late of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Gentleman and died on the fifth day of December 1870 at Nether Broughton aforesaid
