In the name of God Amen I Thomas Gregorie of Saxelbie in the Countie of Leicester Clerk being sick and weake in bodie but of perfect mind and memorie, Thanks be to Allmightie God, doe make and ordeine this my last will & Testament in manner & forme following

First I comend my soule unto Allmightie God & my bodie to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named

And as for my worldlie estate I dispose as followeth That is to say

The wheate which lately Grewe upon the glebe Land which is due to me I give to my nowe wife Marie towards the paying of my debts

Item all the rest of my goodes and Chatles whatsoever my debts being paid and funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath unto my said wife Marie whom I make & ordeine the sole & full Executrix of this my last will & Testament

In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale This sixe and Twentith daie of August in the yere of our Lord God One Thowsand Six Hundred Fiftie and Six

This will was proved at London The Tenth daie of June One Thowsand Six Hundred Fiftie Seven Before the Judges for Probat of Willes and graunted [should be “granting”] Administracons Lawfullie authorized By thoath of Marie the Relict Executrix named in the said will To whom was Committed Administracon of all the singuler the goods Chattles & Debts of the said deceased She being first sworne by Commission trulie to Administer the same
