Cordelia Greaves of Ab Kettleby 1841 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Cordelia Greaves of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Widow and Innkeeper as follows

I Give devise and bequeath All my Real and Personal Estate and Effects of every description of which I shall die possessed Unto my Two friends William Guy and Abraham Pick both of Abb Kettleby aforesaid Graziers their heirs executors administrators and assigns Upon the Several Trusts hereinafter mentioned Upon Trust to pay to my Relation John Stableford the legacy of Sum of One hundred pounds and to Give to him my Oak Bureau at my decease

I Give to Elizabeth Stableford mother of the said John Stableford the Sum of Ten pounds

Unto my Neice Grace Williamson in addition to the share she will hereafter take with my other Nephews and Neices I Give to her the Sum of Twenty pounds

And then Upon further Trust that they the said William Guy and Abraham Pick or the Survivor of them or the heirs executors or administrators of such Survivor do and shall as soon as convenient after my decease absolutely make sale of all my said Real and Personal Estate and Effects in such manner as they may think most advisable and for the most money that can be gotten for the same and with the monies to arise from the sales thereof after paying the legacies above mentioned Upon Trust to pay and divide the same unto and amongst my Nephews and Neices hereinafter named vizt Ann Lowe, John Williamson, Cordelia Jackson, Thomas Williamson and the said Grace Williamson the Children of my late brother Thomas Williamson and Samuel Draper, Thomas Draper and Sarah Draper the Children of my late Sister Ann Draper share and share alike And in case any or either of my said Nephews or Neices should happen to die before their said shares shall become due and payable Then I will that the shares or share of him her or them so dying shall be paid to his her or their next legal Representative or Representatives each family taking their deceased Fathers or Mothers share

And I appoint the said William Guy and Abraham Pick Joint Executors In Trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me make

And for facilitating the Sale of my said Real Estate and the indemnity of the Purchaser or Purchasers thereof I do hereby declare that the Receipt or Receipts of my said Trustees or the Survivor of them or his heirs shall be good and sufficient discharge and discharges to such Purchaser or purchasers who shall not be obliged to see to the application or be answerable for the loss misapplication or nonapplication thereof

And Lastly I do further declare that my said Trustees shall be at liberty out of the said Trust monies and premises to Retain all necessary expences they may be at or put to in executing the aforesaid Trusts and that neither of them shall be answerable for any thing except his own wilful neglect or default not one for the other but each for his own wilful acts deeds neglects and defaults only

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Cordelia Greaves as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as witnesses to the due Execution thereof

William Guy and Abraham Pick both of Ab Kettleby Graziers the Executors named in this will were duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual, and that the goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased without deducting any debts owing by her therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds and that the deceased died on the fifth day of May last past
