In the Name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me John Greasley of the Town and County of the Town of Nottingham Gentleman

First I do humbly recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hoping and trusting through his Mercies and the Merits and Mediation of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to obtain Eternal Salvation and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently and privately interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named And as concerning that temporal Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me I give and dispose thereof in manner following (that is to say)

I Give and Bequeath unto my two nephews Peter Greasley and William Greasley two of the Sons of my late Brother in Law Joseph Greasley deceased the Sum of Twenty Pounds a piece to be paid to them at the End of Twelve Calendar Months next after my Decease And I Give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Greasley the other son of the said Joseph Greasley deceased the Sum of Twenty Pounds to be paid to him when and so soon as she shall attain his Age of Twenty one Years but if the said John Greasley my Nephew shall happen to die before such time as he shall Attain his Age of Twenty One Years then I Give and bequeath the said Sum of Twenty Pounds unto his two Brothers the said Peter Greasley and William Greasley to be equally divided between them

I Give and bequeath unto my Neice Mary Greasley now living with me the Sum of One hundred pounds to be paid to her at her Age of Twenty one Years

And I Give and Devise All and every my messuage burgages lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever situate standing or being in the Town and County of the Town of Nottingham aforesaid and all and every other my messuages lands tenements hereditaments and real estate whatsoever or wheresoever with their and every of their appurtenances unto my Dear Wife Sarah Greasley lately Sarah Hawksley Spinster for and during the Term of her Natural Life

And from and immediately after the decease of her the said Sarah Greasley my now Wife lately Sarah Hawksley Spinster I do Give and Devise all and every my said Messuages Burgages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever with their and every of their appurtenances unto and to the use of Elizabeth Greasley (now an Infant of the Age of Two Months or thereabouts the only Daughter and child of the said Sarah Greasley my now Wife (late Sarah Hawksley Spinster) by me the said John Greasley and of all and every other the issue child and children of the body of me the said John Greasley on the body of the said Sarah Greasley my now wife (late Sarah Hawksley spinster) begotten or to be begotten and whether born in my lifetime or after my decease to be equally divided between them (if more than one) share and share alike to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and of the several and respective heirs of the body and bodies of the said Elizabeth Greasley my daughter and of all and every other such child and children and if the said Elizabeth Greasley my daughter or one or more of such child and children shall happen to die without issue of his her or their body or bodies Then as to the share or shares of him her or them so dying without issue to the use and behoof of the survivors or survivor or others or other of them share and share alike to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and of the several and respective heirs of the body and bodies of the said Elizabeth Greasley my daughter and of all such survivors or survivor or others or other of them

And if the said Elizabeth Greasley my daughter or all such children but one shall happen to die without issue of his her or their body or bodies or if there shall be but one such child Then to the use and behoof of the said Elizabeth Greasley my daughter or of such other survivor or only child and the heirs of his or her body issuing and for default of all such issue then to the use and behoof of my said three nephews Peter Greasley William Greasley and John Greasley and of their several and respective heirs and assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants

I Give and Bequeath unto my said wife Sarah Greasley (late Sarah Hawksley Spinster) her heirs executors administrators and assigns All my ready money and securities for money bonds mortgages and all my estate and interest in all and every the lands tenements and hereditaments mentioned or comprised in such mortgage or mortgages and all my household goods and furniture silver plate linen china goods chattels personal estate and effects whatsoever Subject to the payment thereout of all my just debts the legacies by this my Will given and bequeathed and my funeral expenses

And Lastly I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint my said wife Sarah Greasley (late Sarah Hawksley Spinster) Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me hereinbefore made

In Witness whereof I the said John Greasley the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal this Thirteenth day of October in the Ninth Year of the Reign of King George the Third and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Nine
