This is the last Will and Testament of me Editha Goodson of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Widow
First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be fully paid
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Editha the Wife of Andrew the Guy the Legacy or sum of Seventy five Pounds absolutely
Also I Give and Bequeath unto my daughter Mary Frances the Wife of John Smith the Legacy or sum of Seventy five Pounds absolutely which said two Legacies I direct shall be paid to the said Legatees by my Executor hereinafter named within six months after my decease And I subject and charge all my personal Estate and Effects with the just and true payment thereof
And I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate and Effects of whatsoever nature or kind the same may be and consist of and whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy unto my Son Thomas Goodson his Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely
And lastly I hereby appoint my said Son Thomas Goodson Sole Executor of this my Will
I devise and bequeath all Estates vested in me by way of Mortgage with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Goodson his heirs executors and administrators according to the nature of the same premises subject to the equity of redemption subsisting therein respectively but the money secured on such mortgage to be considered as part of my personal estate
In witness whereof I the said Editha Goodson the Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this Sixteenth day of October One thousand eight hundred and sixty six

Signed Published and Declared by the said Editha Goodson the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other at the same time set our hands as witnesses thereto

Whereas I Editha Goodson of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Widow have duly made my last Will and Testament dated the sixteenth day of October One thousand eight hundred and sixty six Now I hereby declare this to be a Codicil thereto and to be taken as part thereof
Whereas I have given by my said Will unto my daughter Editha Guy the Legacy of Seventy five Pounds Now I do hereby direct my Executor therein named to pay such Legacy unto my said Daughter for her sole and separate use and benefit independent of her present or any future husband and without being in anywise subject or liable to his control debts or engagements and her receipt alone shall be a good and effectual release for the same and in case of her death in my lifetime I direct the same to be paid and divided equally amongst all her children share and share alike
I hereby confirm my said Will in all other respects
In witness whereof I the said Editha Goodson have to this my Codicil set my hand this thirty first day of March One thousand eight hundred and seventy

Proved at Leicester with a Codicil the twenty fourth day of March 1874 by the Oath of Thomas Goodson Son of the deceased the Sole Executor named in the Will to whom Administration was granted
The Testatrix Editha Goodson was late of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Widow and died on the ninth day of November 1873 at Eastwell aforesaid
