This is the Last Will and Testament of me Richard Goodacre of Holwell in the County of Leicester Butcher as follows

In Case my dear and loving wife Sarah Goodacre shall not think proper to dwell and reside with my Eldest Son John Goodacre, I Give Devise and bequeath unto my said Wife and her Assigns for and during the then remainder of her natural life One Annuity or yearly Sum of Twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain free and clear of all Taxes Charges Assessments or other deductions whatsoever And I direct the same to be issuing and payable out of all and every my Messuage or Tenements Closes Lands Hereditaments and premises situate standing lying and being in the Lordship of Holwell aforesaid and to be paid in equal portions on these four days in every year (to wit) the twenty fifth day of March the twenty fourth day of June the twenty ninth day of September and the twenty fifth day of December, The first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall first and next happen after my said Wife shall withdraw herself from the habitation of my said Son John Goodacre And I Give unto my said Wife and her Assigns such and the same power of enforcing and obtaining payment of the said Annuity or yearly Sum of twenty pounds of Distress and Sale from time as any portion thereof shall be behind and unpaid by the space of twenty days next after any of the days whereon the same ought to be paid as aforesaid as Landlords have for the enforcing and obtaining payment of rent in arrear And if my said wife shall have the habitation of my said Son John Goodacre as aforesaid then I Give unto her the free use and occupation of two Rooms in my now dwelling house in Holwell aforesaid (that is to say) the Kitchen and Chamber over the same for and during the term of her natural life And in such Case I likewise Give to my said Wife the Household Goods and Furniture now standing and being in my Parlour and the said Chamber over the Kitchen to be freely disposed of by her as she shall think proper Which said Annuity, together with the use of the said two Rooms and the said Furniture so given to my said Wife as aforesaid I hereby declare to be in lieu bar and full satisfaction of all Dower and thirds at Commons law or by Custom which she my said Wife shall or may have or claim out of in or to all and every or any the Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments of which I may die seized, possessed of or entitled to

And I Will that so long as my said Wife shall live and reside with my said Son John she shall not have any Claim of Dower or otherwise for or in respect or on account of my said Real Estates, & I Give and Devise All my said Messuage or Tenement Closes Lands and other Hereditaments so situate at Holwell aforesaid (subject to the payment of the said Annuity and the use and occupation of the said two Rooms as aforesaid) unto my said Son John Goodacre his Heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I Give and Devise All my Closes or Grounds enclosed situate lying and being in the Lordship of Ab Kettleby in the said County of Leicester containing by Estimation Thirteen Acres or thereabouts and called by the Name of Robert Hills Closes with their Appurtenances (subject nevertheless and charged and chargeable with the payment of my just Debts Legacies Funeral and Testamentary Expences in case my Personal Estate shall fall short of discharging the same) unto my said Son John Goodacre his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and bequeath unto my Daughters Judith Goodacre and Elizabeth Kennedy Wife of Dennis Kennedy the Sum of One hundred pounds apiece which I Will shall be paid them within twelve months after my decease by my Executor

I Give and bequeath unto my youngest Son Richard Goodacre the Sum of three hundred pounds which I Will shall be paid to him within twelve months next after my decease by my Executor hereinafter named In case I shall not have given him to the amount thereof as and for his fortune in my life time

I Give and Devise All that my Close or Ground inclosed with the Appurtenances situate lying and being in the Lordship of Wartnaby in the County of Leicester called by the Names of the Woulds containing four Acres and an half or thereabouts unto my Son William Goodacre his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and bequeath unto my said Son William Goodacre So much and such part of my Household Goods other goods Stock Cattle Chattels Implements of Husbandry and other my Personal Estate which at the time of my death shall be within or upon the Messuages Farm Lands and premises which I now rent and occupy at Granby in the County of Nottingham as will upon a fair valuation amount unto the Sum of Five hundred pounds But in case my said Personal Estate at Granby aforesaid shall not amount to the said Sum of Five hundred pounds Then I Subject and charge All other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be with the Payment of the deficiency thereof unto my said Son William his Executors or Administrators And I Will that my said Son William Goodacre shall enter upon the said farm and premises situate at Granby aforesaid immediately after my decease humbly requesting my Landlord will admit him Tenant thereto

I Give and bequeath All my Household Goods other goods stock Cattle Chattels Implements of Husbandry rights credits ready money securities and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore by me disposed of (subject to the payment of my just Debts, Legacies, the deficiency of any that may happen of the said Sum of Five hundred pounds as aforesaid, Funeral and Testamentary Expences) unto my said Son John Goodacre whom I do hereby appoint Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I the said Richard Goodacre the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and five
