Robert Gill of Nether Broughton 1787 Will

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Archives, Leicestershire Wills and Probate Records 1787

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Robert Gill the younger of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Grazier

First I desire to be buried in a private and decent manner at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named

And as for my Worldly Estate which hath pleased God to bless me with I Give and dispose thereof as follows

In the First place I Give and bequeath All my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle chattells rights Credits and Personal Estate of what kind or sort soever or wheresoever unto my Brother John Gill Upon this Special Trust that he the said John Gill do and shall permit and suffer my Wife Mary Gill to use occupy and enjoy the same untill my four Children John Gill Robert Gill William Gill and Thomas Gill shall respectively attain their respective Ages of twenty One years for and towards their Maintenance and Education And when and as soon as they shall so attain their respective Age and Ages of twenty One Years Then upon this further Trust That He the said John Gill shall and do make a Division of my said Household Goods other Goods and Personal Estate whatsoever unto and amongst my said Wife Mary Gill and my said four Children John Gill Robert Gill William Gill and Thomas Gill share and share alike Provided always and my Mind and Will further is that in case my said Wife Mary Gill and my said Brother John Gill shall not think proper that my said Sons or either of them shall have their respective shares of my said Personal Estate when they attain their respective Age and Ages of twenty one years for or on account of their undutyfullness or disobedience Then and in such case I do direct my said Brother John Gill to deliver such share or shares when He or they shall attain their respective Age and Ages of twenty five Years or sooner if my said Wife Mary Gill and my said Brother John Gill shall think proper

And Lastly I do appoint my said Wife Mary Gill Sole Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Robert Gill the Father and Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty five
