Robert Garton of Long Clawson 1793 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Garton of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Gentleman as follows

First I give and bequeath unto my dear and Loving Wife Susannah Garton all and Singular the Goods Plate Linen and Furniture which belonged to her previous to our Marriage and also all sum and sums of Money secured to her or to any person or persons In trust for her previous to our Marriage as aforesaid either by Mortgages Bonds Notes or in the Public Stock or Funds or otherwise howsoever to be freely disposed of by her the said Susannah Garton as she shall think proper and also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife Susannah Garton the Sum of One hundred Pounds secured to me by Henry Wood the Elder and Henry Wood the younger in and by a certain Bond or obligation bearing date on or about the second day of May which was in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty Eight to be freely disposed of by her as she shall think proper provided always and my Will is that all interest due on the before mentioned Securities in case there shall not be one whole years interest due thereon at the time of my decease shall be paid to my said Wife Susannah Garton But if it shall happen that there shall be one two or more whole years interest due on the same Securities at such the time of my decease then my Will is that such one or more whole Years interest shall be paid to my Executor hereinafter named

And Lastly I give and bequeath all other my household Goods Stock Cattle Chattels ready money and Securities for Money and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (my debts and funeral Expences being first paid) unto my Brother John Garton whom I do hereby nominate and appoint full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Robert Garton the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Eighth day of April in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Nine

This Will was proved at London the Eleventh day of October in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven Hundred and Ninety three before the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Lawfully constituted by the Oath of John Garton the Brother of the deceased and Sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased having been first Sworn duly to Administer
