In the name of God Amen The fifte daie of Februarie the yeare of our Lord God 1592 and in the xxxvth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Ladie Elizabeth by the grace of god of England Frannce & Ireland Queene Defendresse of the faith &c I Nicholas Freeman of Hollwell within the parishe of Abkettlebie in the Countie of Leicester husbandman beinge of whole mynde & in good & perfecte remembrance praised be god therefore make & ordaine this my present testament contayninge therein my last Will in maner & forme followinge

First I commende my Soule into the handes of Almightie God maker of Heaven & Earth and of all things conteyned therein assuring my selfe of eternall salvation through Christ Jesus our saviour knowinge to be saved through him & by no other waies or meanes and my bodie to be buried in the Churchyard of Abkettlebie aforesaid assuring my selfe also that this same my bodie shall rise againe at the last daie unto eternall life

Item I geve & bequeath unto Jone my wife & unto my Sonne Richard Freeman the lease of my farme which I now dwell in so longe as my Sonne Richard & shee can agree togither

Also I will that yf my wife do marrie againe or that she can not agree with my Sonne Richard then I will that my Son Richard shall geve unto her tenne poundes of good & lawfull money of England and so shee to depart from him & provide for herself and the whole lease & farme to remaine wholie unto my Sonne Richard Freeman & to his Assignes

Item I gyve & bequeath unto my fyve Sonnes & to my two daughters that are unmaried fortie shillings a peece

All the rest of my goods unbequeathed I give to my Sonne Richard Freeman whome I mak my full & whole Executor of this my last will and testament

Item I ordain & appoint John Hurst my landlord to be the Overseer to see this my last will to be performed fulfilled & kept
