In the name of God Amen The Seaventh day of Aprill In the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand six hundred seaventy and foure I Roger Francis of Scalford in the County of Leicester husbandman being sicke and weake in body but of sound and perfect memory (prayse be given to God for the same) and knowing the uncertainty of this life on earth and beinge desirous to settle thinges in order Doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following That is to say

First and principally I commend my soule to Almighty God my Creator assuredly beleeveinge that I shall receeve full pardon and free remission of all my sins and be saved by the precious Death and merritts of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as to my Executor hereafter named shall be thought meete and convenient

And as touching such worldly estate as the Lord in mercy haith lent mee my will and meaneing is the same shalbe imployed and bestowed as hereafter by this my will is expressed

And first I doe revoake renounce frustrate and make void all wills by me formerly made and declare and appoint this my last will and Testament

Item I give and bequeath unto Anne my wife that trusse bed and all that beding belonging to it that shee brought and one box and five poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executor hereafter named within six months next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Kirke my eldest daughter one brasse pott

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Robinson my second daughter Twelfe pence

Item I give and bequeath unto Alice Hose my youngest daughter Tweelfe pence

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Kirkes Children William Kirke Mary Kirke and John Kirke Tweenty poundes of currant money of England to be equally devided amongst them

Item all the rest of my moneys goods Chattell and Chattells debts oweing goods Moveable quicke or dead in Scalford or elsewhere not given nor bequeathed these legacies being discharged my debts and funirall expences being paid and discharged I doe hereby give and bequeath unto Richard Kirke my Sonn in law whom I doe make my sole executor of this my last will and Testament

In wittnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare above written in the presence of the persons whose names are here under written
