In the name of God Amen & Philip Francis of Scallforde in the County of Leicester being sicke in body but of good & perfect memory God be praised therefore doe make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner & forme following viz
First I bequeath my soule to allmighty God my creator hopeing assuradly through the merits of Christ Jhs my only saviour & redeemer to be partaker of life everlasting & my body I bequeath to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buryed in the churchyard of Scallford at the discretion of Jane my wife the executrix of this my last will & testament
And for the worldly goods wherewith God hath endowed me I dispose of them in manner & forme following vizt
I bequeath to my father Mathew Francis three pounds and foure sheepe of the meanest sort
To my brother William Francis twenty shilling
To my brother Mathew one hogg & a lambe
& to my sisters two chilldren Mary and Alice ten shillings a peice
And to twelve of the poorest people of Scallford threepence a peice
And to my father my cloake
To my brother Mathew my fustion dublet & best paire of breeches & a payre of stockings & a leather dublet and ierkin & my best hatt
And the rest of my goods & chattels whatsoever undisposed (my funerall charges being first defrayed and discharged) I doe hereby wholy give and bequeath to Jane my wife whom I doe constitute & appoint to be the full and only executrix of this my will and testament and revoking all former wills whatsoever by me made I doe ordaine publish and declare this to be my last will and testament
