Sarah Flower of Long Clawson 1738 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God amen I Sarah Flower of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Spinster & being in health of body and of sound and perfect mind and understanding praised be almighty God for the same Do Make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following that is to say

First of all I resign my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator And my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named

And as for such temporal Estate which it hath pleased almighty God to bless me with I give and dispose of the same as followes (that is to say)

I give and devise all my Messuages Cottages Lands tenements and heredittaments whatsoever Situate standing lying and being in Hickling the County of Nottingham unto my brother William Flower for and During the Term of his Natural life and from and after his Decease Then I give devise the same Unto my Nephew William Flower Son of my brother Robert deceased and to his heirs and assignes for ever

Also I give and devise Unto my said brother William Flower the Annual Sum of Six shillings for the Term of his life to be paid by my executor hereinafter named

Also I give and Devise Unto my said nephew William Flower Son of my Said Brother Robert Flower Deceased all that my Messuage Cottage or Tenement with the appurts in Claxton aforesd wherein I now inhabitt and Dwell to hold to him his heires and assignes for ever

Also I give Unto my Friend Joseph Fox the annual sum of five pounds for and During the Term of Eight Years to Commence from my Decease to be paid him by my executor hereinafter named

Also I give and bequeath unto my brother William Flower the sum of fifteen pounds to be paid him three months after my Death Yet I Will that he only apply the interest of it to his own use for life and that he pay the principal Sum of fifteen pounds as to his three Grand Children equally at his Death

Also I give to John Flower Son of my brother Stephen Flower ten pounds to be paid him with twelve Months after my Death

Also all the rest of my Goods Cattle Chattles and personal Estate whatsoever my debts Legacies and funeral expences being first paid and discharged I give and bequeath Unto my said Nephew William Flower whom I make Sole executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made declaring this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Sarah Flower the Testator have hereunto Set my hand and Seale this Second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and thirty seven
