October 12th 1680
In the name of god Amen I Edward Fawkes of Claxton in the County of Leicester yeoman being weake of body but of good & perfect memory praised be god doe make & ordaine this to bee & to stand for my last will & Testament in manner & forme following
Imprimis I give and bequeath my soule to god that gave it & my body to be buryed in the Church yard of Claxton aforesaid & as for my worldly estate I doe dispose of as followeth
Imprimis I doe give & bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Fawkes three score pounds to be paid within the space of one yeare after my decease
Item I doe give unto my daughter Mary Wright five pounds to be paid within the space of one yeare
Item I doe give unto my grandchild Robert Wright five pound to be paid at his age of one & Twenty yeares
Item I doe give unto my two grandchildren Mary Wright & Isabell Wright to each of the five pounds to be paid at the age of one and Twenty yeares or the day of there marrage which shall first happen
Item I doe give unto my daughter Hannah Dent one fether bed & five pounds to be paid within the space of Two yeares after my decease
Item I doe give unto my daughter Sarah Fawkes one Chest & all the linings that are in it & one bed stead Two bed Hillings two blankits & one fether bed
Item I doe give all the rest of my goods Cattell & Chattells whatsoever & wheresoever unto my son Edward Fawkes to pay my debts legacyes & funerall expences whome I doe make executor of this my last will & Testament
In witnesse whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seale the day & yeare first above written
