In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Exton of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Grazier being Sick and Weak in Body but of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding and Considering the Uncertainty of this life Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to Say)

First of all I give my Soule to God who gave it me And my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named And as for my Worldly Estate Which hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as follows

In the first place I order and direct that all and Singular my Debts funeral Expences the charges of my proving this my Said Will shall and may as soon as conveniently can be after my decease be faithfully paid and discharged

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Loving Daughter Mary Exton the Sum of three Hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid her within Six Months next after my decease by the Executor hereinafter named

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Loving Daughter Dorothy Exton the Sum of three Hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid her within Six Months next after my Decease by my Said Executor

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Loving Daughter Anne Exton the Sum of three Hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid her within Six Months next after my Decease by my Said Executor

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Loving Son John Exton my Corner Cubbard or Beaufett which Stands in the Middle Chamber part of my Dwelling House in Eastwell aforesaid

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Said Son John Exton and my Said three Daughters Mary, Dorothy and Anne Exton All and Singular my Household Goods Whatsoever standing and being in the said now dwelling House to be equally divided Amongst them Share and Share alike and their and Each of their Said respective Shares thereof shall be delivered to them and Each of them As soon as may be after my Decease by my Said Executor

And Also I give and bequeath unto Frances Martin of Eastwell aforesaid Spinster and Sum of Ten pounds in Such manner as I have directed by a former Will Executed by me to be paid her by my Said Executor

And Also I give Devise and bequeath unto the said Frances Martin and her Assignes one Annuity or yearly rent charge of Seven pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain free of all Taxes and other deductions Whatsoever to be issuing out of all those my two Closes of pasture or grounds inclosed lying and being in Nether Broughton in the said County of Leicester which I lately purchased of one Richard Smith To Have and to hold the Said Annuity or yearly rent charge of Seven pounds free of all Taxes and other Deductions whatsoever unto the Said Frances Martin and her Assignes Yearly and every year for and during the Term of her Natural life to be paid her by four quarterly payments in the Year (that is to Say) on the Twenty fourth day of June the Twenty Ninth day of September the Twenty first day of December and the Twenty fifth day of March by even and Equal portions the first payment thereof to be made upon such of the said Days as shall first and next happen after my decease With full power and Authority for her the said Frances Martin and her Assignes to make Distress or Distresses on the Said two Closes and premises In case of non-payment to of the Said Annuity of Seven Pounds or any part thereof by my Said Executor and the same Distress or Distresses to Lead drive and carry away the same to detain and keep untill She the Said Frances Martin of the Said Annuity of Seven pounds and every part thereof together with all Such charges and Expences of Such Distress Detainer Shall be fully paid and discharged Which said Annuity of Seven pounds so given to the said Frances Martin I do declare shall be taken In full of her Annuity give her by her father Francis Martin deceased in and in and by his Last Will and Testament

And Also I give and bequeath unto my Said three Daughters Mary Exton Dorothy Exton and Anne Exton the Sum of fifty pounds to Each of them to be paid to Each of them within Six Months next after the Decease of the Said Frances Martin And for the Just and payment Whereof I do hereby Subject and charge my Said two Closes of pasture and premises with the payment of the Said three last Mentioned Legacies of fifty pounds to Each of my Said Daughters Mary Dorothy and Anne so given to them and Each of them at the time and manner as aforesaid

And Lastly I not only give Devise and bequeath All those my aforesaid two Closes of pasture and premises lying and being in Nether Broughton aforesaid But Also all and Singular the rest and residue of my Goods Cattle Chattells rights credits and personal Estate of what kind or Nature so ever (my Said Annuity Legacies and funeral Expences being first paid and discharged in manner as aforesaid and Subject thereto) unto my Said Son John Exton is heirs Excors Admors and Assignes Whom I do hereby Appoint full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament Revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Exton the Testator have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Twenty first day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six

Signed Sealed published and Declared by the Said Thomas Exton the Testator to be his last Will and Testament In the presence of us the Witnesses under written who have at his request And in his presence And in the presence of Each other set our Names at Witnesses to the due Execution of this his Said Will
