William Dunsmore of Scalford 1762 Will

In the Name of God Amen I William Dunsmore the Elder of Scalford in the County of Leicester Butcher being in health of body and of Sound Mind and memory praised be almighty God for the same Do this one and thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Six Make and ordaine this my last will and testament in Manner following (that is to say)

I give and devise all that my Cottage house or tenement with all outbuildings Commons and appurtenances to the same belonging Scituate Standing and being in Scalford aforesaid wherein I now inhabit and dwell And also all that half yard land of arable Meadow and pasture ground with the appurtenances thereto belonging lying and being within the fields and precincts of Scalford aforesaid to the said Cottage house belonging or going along therewith now in my own possession Unto my Grandson John Oswin and his heires for ever Subject nevertheless to the payment of the Sum of five and thirty pounds apiece Unto my two Grandaughters Mary Oswin and Elizabeth Oswin to be paid to them when and as they shall Attain their respective ages of twenty one Years And I Do hereby Charge my Said Cottage or tenement and half yard Land So given Unto my Said Grandson John Oswin and his heires With the payment of the Said Sum of five and thirty pounds apiece Unto my Said two Grandaughters Mary Oswin and Elizabeth Oswin as aforesaid

Also I give Unto my Said two Grand daughters Mary Oswin and Elizabeth Oswin the sum of five pounds apiece

Also I give to my eldest Son Richard Dunsmore one Guinea

Also I give Unto my Son William Dunsmore one Guinea I having otherwise provided for them in my life time

Also I give Unto my Grandaughter Mary Daughter of my Said Son Richard one Guinea

Also I give Unto my Grand Children Mary William Dorothy Jane and Richard Sons and daughters of my Said Son William Dunsmore five pounds apiece

All which Said Legacies I will to be paid Within twelve Months after my decease and I will and direct that the receipts of my Said Grand Children Shall notwithstanding their Minority With the approbation of their father William Dunsmore be Sufficient to my executor for the Same

And I Do hereby acquit release and discharge my Son in law Thomas Oswin of And from all Claimes and Demands whatsoever which I now have or may or shall have on any account or pretence whatsoever

Also all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Cattle Chattles and personal Estate of what kind soever my Debts legacies funeral expences being first thereout paid and discharged I give and bequeath the Same unto my Said Son in law Thomas Oswin In trust nevertheless for the use and benefit of my said three Grand Children John Oswin Mary Oswin and Elizabeth Oswin equally

And I Do appoint my Said Son in law Thomas Oswin Sole and full executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me Made declaring this to be my last Will and testament
