In the Name of God Amen I William Doubleday of Claxton alias Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Yeom being Sick and Weak of body but of Sound and perfect Mind and Understanding praised be almighty God for the Same doe make and Ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)

Impris I resign my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me hoping through the alone meritts and Mediacon of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have full pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and to Obtain Eternall life and my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named

And as for my temporal Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with all I give devise and bequeath the Same as followeth

Impris I give and devise all that Messuage house or tenement with the appurts Situate Standing and being in Claxton als Long Clawson aforesaid Called by the name of the Little house and now in the possession of me the said William Doubleday Unto my daughter in law Mary Musson Untill my Grandson Edward Doubleday Shall attain to his full age of one and twenty years and then I give and devise the same Unto my Said Grand Son Edward Doubleday his heires and assignes for ever

Item I give and devise all that messuage house or tenement with the appurts situate standing and being in Claxton also Long Clawson aforesaid Called by the name of the Great house and now in the possession of me the Said William Doubleday Unto my daughter in law Mary Musson for and during the terme of her natural life and from and after her Decease the I give and devise the Same Unto my Grand Son Edward Doubleday his heires and Assignes for ever

Item I give and bequeath Unto my five Grand children Edward, Mary, William, Ann and John Doubleday the sum of three score pounds apiece to be paid to them at their Severall and respective ages of one and twenty years And in Case any of them dye before he she or they shall attain to their Several and respective ages of one and twenty years then I give the legacie of him her or them so dying Unto the Survivour or Survivours equally And my Will and Mind is that the Said Sum of three score pounds apiece So given to my Said Grand children by me as aforesaid Shall within three Months next after my decease be paid by my Executor herein after named to Edward Fawkes of Neather Broughton in the County of Leicester aforesaid Yeom and John Moore of Claxton als Long Clawson aforesaid Yeom In trust for my aforesd Grand children Edward, Mary, William, Ann, and John Doubleday and to be by them the Said Edward Fawkes and John Moore put out at Interest as Soon as Conveniently may be and the Interest and improvement thereof to goe towards the Educacon and bringing up of my aforesaid Grand children Edward, Mary, William, Ann, and John Doubleday Untill they shall attain to their Several and respective ages of one and twenty years And my Will and mind further is and I Doe hereby impower the said Edward Fawkes and John Moore to make use of and imploy any Sum or Sums of money part of the said Sums of three score pounds apiece So given as aforesaid to my Said Grand children Edward Mary William Ann and John Doubleday for and towards putting them out to Trades or otherwise as they the Said Edward Fawkes and John Moore shall think fitt And I will that the Said Edward Fawkes and John Moore shall not be lyable to answer or make good any loss that shall happen by the Failing of any Security that Shall be taken for the Said three Score pounds apiece given to my Said Grand children or any part thereof that shall be put out at Interest but that the Same Shall be the Equal loss of my Said Grand children if any happen to be And I Will that they the Said Edward Fawkes and John Moore shall pay and reimburse themselves by and out the Said three Score pounds apiece So given to my Grand children Edward Mary William Ann and John Doubleday all Such reasonable and necessary charges and expences as they or either of them shall be put Unto in or about the ordering Managing or Disposing of the Said Sums of three Score pounds apiece So given Unto my Said Grand children as aforesaid

Item all the rest of my Goods Cattle Chattles and personal Estate whatsoever My debts legacies and funeral Expences being first paid and discharged I give and bequeath Unto my Son in law James Musson he bringing up of my Said Grand Children till they shall attain their Several and respective ages of one and twenty years or Untill they shall be Capable to Maintain themselves and I Doe hereby Nominate and appoint my Said Son in law James Musson full and Sole Executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made declaring this to be My last Will and testament

In Witness whereof I the Said William Doubleday have hereunto Set my hand and Seale this one and thirtieth day of July in the Year of Our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and twenty two
