Elizabeth Dixon of Eastwell 1827 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Dixon of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Widow

In the first place I will and direct that my funeral expences and just debts be first discharged

I then give and bequeath unto my Nephew Thomas Newton now residing at Nottingham ten Pounds

I also give unto my two Nieces Mary Knott Wife of John Knott of Croxton in the County of Leicester and to Anne Newton all my Cloths and Body linen to be equally divided between them

I then give and bequeath unto my beloved Son John Dixon his Heirs and Assigns forever all the remainder of my Monies Goods Chattels real & personal Estate of what kind or wheresoever whom I also appoint to be the sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament

I do hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven

Signed sealed and declared by the aforesaid named Elizabeth Dixon the Testator as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses thereunto

Let a probat be granted to John Dixon of Eastwell, Farmer, sole Executor named in the Will of Elizabeth Dixon, who died at Eastwell on the 16th day of July 1827

He the said John Dixon being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the Will, as that the Testator’s Goods, Chattels & Credits as they were at her death without deducting any Debts owing by her therefrom, did not amount in value to the sum of one hundred pounds
