Thomas Dale of Ab Kettleby 1854 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Dale of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Cottager

I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expences to be fully paid

I Give and Devise all that my messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate in Queen Street Melton Mowbray in the occupation of [blank] Unto my Two Daughters Elizabeth Goodson and Frances Brown their heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants

I Give and bequeath unto the said Frances Brown the sum of One Hundred Pounds

And as to all the Rest Residue and remainder of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever I Give and bequeath the same Unto and equally between my said Two Daughters share and share alike

And I appoint my Son in law George Goodson of Saxelby Leicestershire Farmer Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this first day of September 1853

Signed published and declared by the said Testator Thomas Dale as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as Witnesses to the due Execution thereof the obliteration of the word “Kin” being done before the execution thereof

Let a Probate be made to George Goodson of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Farmer the sole Executor named in the Will of the deceased

He having been first duly Sworn to the truth and faithful performance of the Will as usual and to the truth of the usual Affidavit for the Inland Revenue Office that the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased without deducting anything on account of debts due or owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of Three hundred Pounds and that the Testator died on the Eighteenth day of September last past
