Daft John late of Hickling, but last of Frisby

In the Name of God Amen the Twelfth Day of November in the Year of our Lord God 1754 I John Daft of Hickling in the County of Nottingham Husbandman, being very sick and weak in Body, but of perfect Mind and Memory, thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto Mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and order this my last Will and Testament, That is to say

Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it, and for my Body, I commend it to the Earth, to be Buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly Estates wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form

Imprimis first I give and bequeath to my Son John Daft the sum of one Shilling

Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth the sum of five Shillings

Item I give to my dearly beloved Wife the Half Oxgang of Land that was formerly Richard Jannenss’es [?] together with the Oxgang and Half that was formerly John Smiths also I give to my dearly beloved Wife the Cake Lane Close, the Close together with the two Oxgang of Land to be Enjoy’d by her during her life and at her Decease to go to my Son Robert Daft and his Heirs for ever and he the said my Son Robert Daft I Joyn Executor with my dearly beloved Wife of this my last Will and Testament all and singular my Lands, Messuages and Tennemen Goods and Chattles by them freely to be possessed and enjoys 

And I do hereby utterly disalow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments, Wills Legacies and Requests and Executors by me in any ways before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and Year above Written
