John Cragg of Goadby Marwood 1802 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Cragg of Goadby Marwood in the County of Leicester Yeoman

I give devise and bequeath my Messuage or Tenement with the Homestead Garden and other Appurtenances situate lying and being in Eastthorp in the Parish of Bottisford in the County of Leicester unto my Wife Ann Cragg for her sole and separate use and benefit during the term of her natural life and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the same unto my Nephew Ellis Cragg of Long Lane in the Borough of Southwark and County of Surry Taylor and my Niece Elizabeth Lees Daughter of Thomas Lees of Marrham near Peterborough in the County of Northampton their Heirs and Assigns for Ever and they to take as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants

I also give and bequeath my share in the Melton Mowbray Navigation to my said Wife Ann Cragg for her sole and separate use to have receive and take the interest and produce thereof for and during the term of her Natural life and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the same unto her Nephew John Leigh his Heirs and Assigns for ever

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate both real and personal of what nature kind or sort soever (after payment of all my just debts Funeral expences and Legacies) I give devise and bequeath the same to my said Wife Ann Cragg her Heirs and Assigns for ever to their own proper use and benefit, and I do hereby constitute nominate and appoint my said Wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do hereby declare this to be and contain my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this eighteenth day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven

Let probat be granted to Ann Cragg, sole executrix of the within written will, she being sworn to the due execution thereof, & made oath that the whole of the Testator’s personal effects, at the time of his death, did not amount to the sum of one hundred pounds
