George Caunt of Stathern 1606 Will

In the name of God Amen the second daie of the moneth of June in the fourth yeare of the Raign of our moste gracious Soveraigne Lord James by the grace of God of England France and Ireland Kinge and of Scotland the nyne and thirtieth Wittnesseth that I George Caunte of Statherne in the Countie of Leicester husbandman being sicke in bodie but of Remembrance whole and sounde praysed be god for yt doe ordeine and make this my last Will and testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my soule to allmightie god the maker of me and all mankind and my bodie to the buried in the Church yarde of Statherne aforesaid
Imprimis I give unto my sonne Gabriell Caunte my house in Statherne and all my Land thereunto belonging leying both in Statherne feild and Harbie feild Onely reservinge unto Margarett my wief the thirde of it Duringe her naturall lief
Item I give unto Willm Caunte my sonne foure pound tenne shillings to be paid unto him when he shall accomplishe thage of one and twentie yeares
Allso I give unto Anne Caunte my daughter foure pound tenne shillings to be paid unto her upon the daie of her maryadge
Item I give unto Margarett my Wief all my houshould stuffe excepting the heire Lownes
Further I give unto my said wief one Cowe called or knowne by the name of Daysie
All the rest of my goods whatsoever unbequeathed my debts Lebacies and funerall expences discharged I give unto Gabriell Caunte my sonne whome I make my sole Executor of this my laste will and testament and I desire Raphe Willson my Brother to be Supvisor thereof and for his paines I give him twelve pence and I utterlie renownce all other wills heretofore made And I acknowledge this to be my trewe and lawfull laste Will and testament and therunto have sett my hand and subscribed my marke the daie moneth and yeare first above written in the presence of theise wittnesses underwritten
