John Burton of Grimston 1752 Will and Inventory

In The Name of God Amen I John Burton of Grimson [sic] in the County of Leicester yeoman Being Sick and weak of Body but of Sound and perfect mind and understanding Do make my will in manner Following That is to Say

First of all I resign my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and my body I Commit to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as for Such Temprol Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me withall I Give and Dispose of the same as follows:

To witt I Give unto my Daughters Sarah [lost in fold, one word beginning with S] Emm Shipman one Shilling Each

I Give to my Granchild William Hill one Shilling

I give to my Son John Burton one Shilling

All the rest of my Goods Cattle Chattles and Personal Estate of what kind soever my Debts Legacies Funeral Expences and other Charges which Shall be Expended their out paid and Discharged I Give and bequeath unto my Loving Wife Sarah Burton whom I make my Sole Executrix of this my Last will and Testement and at her Deceas I Give unto my Daughter Mary Stockwell all Goods Cattle Chattles and personal Estate of what kind soever to her and her Ayers for Ever

In Witness whereof I the Sd John Burton have unto Set my hand and seale this twenty fourth Day of May in the year of our Lord 1746
