Thomas Bugg of Plungar 1660 Will and Inventory

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Bugge of Plungar in the county of Leicester yeoman being sicke in body but of good & perfect remembrance thankes be to god doe ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner & forme as followeth

First I give my soule unto god my blessed maker hoping to be saved through the onely meritts of our Lord Jesus Xt my alone saviour & most gracious Redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Plungar aforesd

It I give & bequeath unto my soon Henry Bugge my house and Land in Plungar with all the profitts comons comodities & appurtenances thereunto belonging to be equally & ioyntly held and enioyed by my sayd sonne Henry Bugg and my loveing wife Anne Bugge during the natural life of my sayd wife (provided that she soe long keepe herselfe my widow) and after the death of my sayd wife or second marriage of her my sayd wife (which shall first happen) then to be solely & wholly held possessed & enioyed by him my sd sonne Henry Bugg his hayres & assigns for ever excepting such pt as the law shall assigne & allow her after second marriage during her naturall life

It I give unto my three sonnes Thomas, Richard and William five poundes a piece to be payd out of my liveing when they the sd Thomas Richard and William shall come to the age of one and twentie yeares and as they shall come severally to the sayd age

It I give unto my loveing wife Anne Bugg two kine and my sheep whatsoever (excepting three weather sheepe which are to be sold towards the paying of my debts)

It it is my will that all my horses & mares whatsoever one cow the aforesaid three weather sheepe and my carts & cart geares plowes & plowgears and all the timber longing unto any of them be all sold to pay my debts with all and what shall be remining and left of the moneyes which the sayd severall goodes shall be sold for when the debts shall be fully payed & discharged I give and bequeath unto my three youngest children Thomas Richard and William to be equally divided and parted between them so soone as the sd goods are sold and the sd debts discharged and payd and to be putt forth for the use of the sayd Thomas Richard & William

All the rest of my goods cattell & chattells unbequeathed I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Anne Bugg and Henry Bugge my sonne whom I make my joynt executors of this my last will and testament to see my debts & Legacies payd my funerall discharged and my body decently & orderly buried
