In the name of God Amen I Henry Bugge of Plungar in the county of Leicester yeoman being diseased in body, but of good and perfect remembrance thankes be given to God, doe ordaine this my last will & testament in manner & forme as followeth

First I give and bequeath my soule to Allmighty God hopeing to be saved through the meritts of the Ld Jesus Christ my alone saviour & all sufficient Redeemer, and my body to be decently & orderly buried in the church=yard of Plungar aforesd

It I give and bequeath unto my loveing wife Margrett Bugge the bed that shee brought with her with sufficient bedding and furniture for the sayd bed; alsoe the Cupboard that shee the sayd Margrett my wife brought with her, and the lesser table in the house, alsoe one brasse panne which she useth to … milke in (provided that shee keepe herselfe my widow)

It I give & bequeath unto my daughter Anne one ioynt chest commonly called Watson chest

It I give and bequeath unto my daughters Anne and Katharine all the linnings in the sayd chest excepting two winding sheetes

It I give unto my daughter Katharine a little chest which I use to lay my writings in

It I give unto my daughters Anne & Katharine foure of the best pieces of pewter, and one brasse chaffingdish, & a pewter candlesticke and the great brasse pott

It I give unto my wife Margrett Bugg sufficient roome and harbor in the dwelling house wherein I now live soe long as my mother Orson liveth, if shee continue my widow, and after the death of my mother Orson I give unto her my sayd wife all that house wherein Willm Orson now liveth (excepting one chamber commonly called the pigeon chamber) and alsoe all the yard together with all thinges whatsoever belonging to the sd house & yard, and halfe the profitts of the orchard belonging to my dwelling house, to be held and enioyed by her the sd Margrett Bugge dureing the terme of her naturall life, if soe be shee soe long continue & keepe herselfe my widow

Ite I give and bequeath unto Robt Warren my sonne in Law the sume of fortie shillinges, and alsoe one quarter of barley, the which fortie shillings and quarter of barley he the sd Robt Warren oweth unto me, which I give and bequeath unto the sayd Robt Warren in absolute & full satisfaccon both of his wife’s porcon, and all other dues, demands and claymes whatsoever to, from or by him the sd Robt Warren, & Elizabeth his wife, or either of them

It I give unto the two children of the sd Robt Warren each of them an ewe hogge to be marked and sett out for them at the martinmasse after my decease

It I give and bequeath unto my sonne in law Henry Breeden of Normanton in the county of Leicester one piece of meadow lying in Bottesford meadowes in lue of ten pounds of his wife’s porcon promised with her, in case that my sonne John Bugge does not within the space of sixe years next after my decease pay or cause to be payd unto the sayd Henry Breeden or his certayne attorney, his executors administrators or assignes the full and iust sume of tenne pounds of lawfull money of England

It I give & bequeath unto my sd sonne in law Henry Breedon tenne poundes worth of houshold goodes in part of his wifes porcon, which sd goodes he the sd Henry Breeden hath already received

It I give & bequeath unto the sayd Henry Breeden the sume of tenne pounds of good & lawfull money of England in part of his wifes porcon to be payd at or before the second day of February commonly called Candlemasse day which shall be in the yeare of [“our Lord” missing in worn patch] one thousand sixe hundred fiftie and seaven

It I give and bequeath unto my sonne in law Henry Breeden in full satisfaccon of his wifes porcon the sume of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be payd unto him the sd Henry when my sonne John Bugg cometh to the full and compleate age of five and twenty years

It I give unto Alice the daughter of the sd Henry Breeden one ewe hogg to be marked and sett out for the sd Alice at the Martinemasse next after my decease

It I give & bequeath unto my daughter Anne halfe an oxegang of that Land which I bought of Francis Pell together with all the comons and appurtenances anyways thereunto belonging, to be entered upon and enioyed when my sonne John Bugg cometh to the age of two and twenty years (provided that my sonne John doe afterwards for the space of sixe yeares hold & occupie the sd halfe oxegang of Land together with all & every of the appurtenances thereunto belonging, as tenant unto her the sd Anne his sister, and doe therefore yearely and every yeare during the sd sixe yeares pay unto her the sd Anne the sume of one pound and five shillings as the rent thereof, provided likewise that if my sd sonne John Bugg doe at any time within the space of the sayd sixe yeares pay unto my sayd daughter Anne Bugg the sume of sixe and twenty poundes of lawfull English money, that then shee the sayd Anne shall quietly & peaceably yield up the sayd halfe oxgang of Land together with all and every the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the sayd John Bugge and shall fully quitt yield up & relinquish all manner of clayme, right, title and interest whatsoever in the sd halfe oxgang of Land together with all & every of its appurtenances unto the sd John Bugg and his heyres for ever

It I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne in full satisfaccon of her childes porcon the sume of tenne poundes of lawfull English money to be payd unto her the sd Anne Bugge when my sonne John Bugg cometh to the full and compleat age of foure and twenty years

It I give and bequeath unto my daughter Katharine Bugge the sume of twenty poundes of lawfull English money to be payd unto her the sd Katharine when shee cometh to the full and compleate age of one and twenty yeares

It I give unto my daughter Katharine in full satisfaccon of her childes porcon the full and iust sume of tenne poundes of lawfull money of England to bee payd unto her the sd Katharine Bugge when she cometh to the full and compleat age of seaven and twenty yeares

And it is alsoe my will, that if the sd Katharine Bugg shall after the decease of her mother be out of service, or be sicke, or have any other need to be at home, that shee the sayd Katharine shall be maintained & kept by her brother John Bugge untill shee come to the age of one and twenty yeares, provided that shee the sd Katharine doe soe long continue and keepe herselfe a single & unmarried woman

All the rest of my goods, cattell, & chattells, moveable & unmoveable unbequeathed, I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Bugg, whom I make my full & sole executor, to see all my debts payd, my Legacies discharged, and my body decently & orderly buried

In wittnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale this fifth day of January in the yeare of our Ld one thousand sixe hundred fifty and sixe

If the above sd Margrett my wife doe marry again; then those goods formerly given and bequeathed unto her in case shee continue and keepe herselfe my widow, I doe give & bequeath unto my daughters Anne and Katharine to be equally shared and parted betweene them, and to be received, and take to their owne use and behoofe at or immediately before the second marriage of her my sayd wife
