John Brewin of Goadby Marwood 1821 Will

This is the Last Will and Testament of Me John Brewin of Goadby Marwood in the County of Leicester Mason

I give devise and bequeath unto my Son John Brewin one half of all my Money Goods Chattels Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same may be at the time of my decease for his own use and benefit absolutely

And I give and bequeath unto my dear Wife Elizabeth Brewin all the Residue of my said Personal estate and Effects for her maintenance and support But if at the decease of my said Wife there shall happen to be a Surplus unapplied as before directed Then the said surplus to be equally divided amongst my six children John Brewin Mary Brewin Elizabeth the wife of William Taylor Sarah Brewin Susanna Brewin and Catherine Brewin share and share alike

And I do hereby nominate and appoint my dear Wife Elizabeth Brewin and my Son John Brewin Executors of this my Will

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one

Let a probat be granted to Elizabeth Brewin of Goadby Marwood in the County of Leicester, widow, & John Brewin of the aforesaid Parish Stone Mason, Executrix & Executor named in the will of the late John Brewin, who died at Goadby Marwood on the 28th day of Jany 1821

They the said Elizabeth Brewin, & John Brewin having been duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the will as that the Testators Goods Chattels & Credits as they were at his death, without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom, did not amount in value to the sum of one hundred pounds
