This is the last Will and Testament of me Matthew Bishop of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Farmer and Grazier

I revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me

I appoint my Sons in Law John Wright of Nether Broughton aforesaid Farmer Joseph Wright of Ealing in the County of Middlesex Accountant and Henry Marriott of Scalford in the County of Leicester to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will

I bequeath to my Grandson John Marriott my watch to my Granddaughter Louisa Marriott my chiffonier and to my Granddaughter Annie Marriot my silver watch now worn by my Granddaughter Lucy Susannah Palmer

I devise all my Real Estate and I bequeath all my residuary personal estate Unto and to the use of the said John Wright Joseph Wright and Henry Marriott their heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively Upon trust that they the said John Wright Joseph Wright and Henry Marriott or the survivors or survivor of them or the heirs executors or administrators of such survivor (all which several persons and other the Trustees or Trustee for the time being hereof are hereinafter referred to as “the said Trustees or Trustee”) shall at such times and in such manner and upon such terms and conditions in all respects as the said Trustees or Trustee shall think fit sell call in collect or otherwise convert into ready money the said trust premises and shall with and out of the moneys to arise from such sale calling in collection and conversion pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and shall invest the residue of the said moneys in any of the Public stocks or funds or Government Securities of the United Kingdom or India or upon real securities in England or Wales or in or upon the debenture or preference stocks or shares of any Railway Company in the United Kingdom or upon the stocks funds or mortgages of any Municipal Corporation or Sanitary Authority in England or upon any securities authorized by Act of Parliament with power from time to time to vary such investments for others of the kind hereby authorized And shall apply the income of the said residue of the said moneys and of the investment thereof (hereinafter referred to as “the trust fund”) for or towards the maintenance and education or otherwise for the benefit of my said Granddaughter Lucy Susannah Palmer until she shall have attained the age of twenty one years or have died under that age And after she the said Lucy Susannah Palmer shall have attained that age or have sooner died the said Trustees or Trustee shall stand possessed of the trust fund upon the trust hereinafter declared concerning the same that is to say

As to one equal third part thereof In trust for my said Granddaughter Lucy Susannah Palmer if and when she attains the age of twenty one years but not otherwise and in the event of her dying under that age then the said one third part of the trust fund shall be held by the said Trustees or Trustee upon the trusts hereinafter declared concerning the remaining two third parts of such fund

And as to the said remaining two equal third parts of the trust fund the said Trustees or Trustee shall stand possessed thereof In trust for such of them my said Grandchildren Louisa Marriott John Marriott and Annie Marriott as shall attain the age of twenty one years and to be equally divided between such of them the said Louisa Marriott John Marriott and Annie Marriot as attain that age but in the event of all of them the said Louisa Marriott John Marriot and Annie Marriot dying under the said age of twenty one years then the said remaining two equal third parts of the trust fund shall be held in trust for the said Lucy Susannah Palmer if and to be vested in her when she attains the age of twenty one years but not otherwise

Provided always and I declare that the said Trustees or Trustee may defer or postpone the sale and conversion of the real and personal estate hereby given to them or any part or parts thereof respectively as long as they or he shall think proper and they or he may without liability in the event of loss continue for such period as they or he may deem expedient any business of mine and employ in such business any part of my estate and effects or any part of the moneys arising from the trust for sale collection and conversion hereinbefore declared and the net profits arising from any such business shall be deemed income and be dealt with as though such business shall be deemed income and be dealt with as though the same arose from an investment made in pursuance of the trust hereinbefore contained

In witness whereof I the said Matthew Bishop have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty four

Proved at Leicester of the thirteenth day of October 1886 by the Oaths of John Wright Joseph Wright and Henry Marriott the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Matthew Bishop was late of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Farmer and Grazier and died on the twenty sixth day of July 1886 at Nether Broughton aforesaid
