Mary Beeston of Long Clawson 1714 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Mary Beeston of Claxton Als Long Clawson in the county of Leicester Widow being sick & weak in Body but of sound & perfect memory & understanding Doe make & ordain this my last will & Testament in manner following (That is to say)

Imps my will & mind is that my eldest Son Thomas Beeston & Elizabeth his wife shall hold & Enjoy for & during their natural lives & the life of the Longer liver of them All that my Messuage or tenemt with the Backside & appts to the same belonging wherein I now Inhabitt & dwell and from & immediately after the determination of Such Estate I Doe hereby give & devise the sd Messuage or tenemt & premisses unto my Grandson Thomas Beeston (Eldest son of my sd son Thomas Beeston) And to his heirs And Assigns forever

Allsoe I Give and Bequeath unto my son William Beeston All & every sume & sums of money whatsoever which hath att any time or times heretofore been placed out att Interest in his name (for my use) and all the Interest produce & increase thereof which shall be due upon the same respectively att the time of my decease

Allsoe I Give and bequeath unto my sd son William Beeston and to my Grand Daughter Anne Beeston fourth Daughter of my sd Son Thomas Beeston All my household goods whatsoever to be equally divided between them share & share alike within forty Daies next after my decease And I doe hereby desire the persons (who shall be concerned to prise my goods immediately after my decease) to divide All my sd Household Goods as equally as they can between my sd son William Beeston & my sd Grand Daugther Anne Beeston and to see that the same be applied to their respective uses within the time limitted as aforesd

Allsoe I Give & Bequeath to my sd Grand Daughter Anne Beeston the sume of five pounds of Good & Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executors hereinafter named within one year next after my Decease

Allsoe I Give & bequeath unto my sd son Thomas Beeston & my sd GrandSon Thomas Beeston All the rest of my personall Estate whatsoever undisposed of they paying All my Debts my funerall Expences & the severall Legacies following (That is to say)

To Elizabeth Beeston the onely daughter of my son George Beeston decd the sume of five pounds of good & Lawfull money of Great Britain And to my GrandSon William Beeston the sume of Three pounds of like lawfull money of Great Britain

Allsoe to my Grand Daughter Jane Lymbard the like sume of Three pounds of like lawfull money of Great Britain And to the two Children of my Grand Daughter Mary Kellham the sume of Tenn Shillings a peice And to the son of my GrandSon Joel Beeston the sume of Twenty shillings

And Allsoe to the Two Children of my Grand Daughter Sarah Sharpe the sume of Tenn Shillings a peice

And my will & mind further is that the severall Legacies given as aforesd shall be paid to the respective persons as aforesd within one year next after my decease

And Lastly I Doe hereby make ordain constitute & appoint my sd son Thomas Beeston & my sd GrandSon Thomas Beeston Joynt Executors of this my Last will & Testamt hereby revokeing all former wills & Testamts whatsoever by me att any time heretofore made

In Wittness whereof I the sd Mary Beeston have to this my last will & Testamt Sett my hand & Seal this Nineteenth Day of May in the year of our Lord 1714

Sealed & delivered published & declared by the sd Mary Beeston to be her last will & Testamt (the word viz (goods) being first interlined) in the presence of us whose names are & were subscribed in the presence of the said Testatrix
