William Bean of Harby 1801 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Bean of Harby in the County of Leicester Husbandman made this eleventh day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety seven

First I will and direct that my Executrix herein after named shall well and truly pay to my son in the law James Leevesly of Stathern the sum of one hundred pounds being the remaining part of and in full for the two hundred pounds which I agreed to pay to him as a Marriage Portion with my Daughter Ann Leevesly and I direct that the said sum of one hundred pounds shall be paid to my said son in law James Leevesly within twelve Months after my decease or at such time as the security which I have given him appoints the payment thereof on his delivering up such security and giving my Executrix a Receipt in full for the said one hundred pounds

And I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Dalby of Stonesby the sum of One hundred pounds

Also I give and bequeath to my Grandson James Leevesly my Silver Tankard

And as to all my ready Money and Securities for Money Goods Cattle Chattels and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever not herein before by me disposed of I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to my Daughter Frances Bean (subject nevertheless to the payment of all my just Debts Funeral Expences charges of proving this my Will and the several Legacies or payments herein before given or mentioned to be made) to and for her own use and benefit

And I do hereby make constitute and appoint my said Daughter Frances Bean whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I the said William Bean the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the day and year first above Written

Signed Sealed published and declared by the within mentioned William Bean as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereunto

Let probate be granted to Frances Harwood wife of John Harwood of Harby Leicestershire, late Frances Bean, sole Executrix of the within written will, she being sworn to the due execution thereof, & made oath that the whole personal estate of the deceased at the time of his death did not amount to the sum of Three hundred pounds
