I Thomas Barnard of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Grocer upon serious thoughts of death do make and publish this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me made
I give and bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth Barnard all and singular my furniture linen household goods chattles and stock in trade together with all book debts which shall be due to me at the time of my decease after discharging all my lawful debts Funeral and testamentary expenses also all the money of which I am possessed and now invested in the Nottingham Savings bank for her sole use and benefit during the term of her natural life and at her decease to be left to our only son John Barnard
And I do hereby nominate and appoint My Dear Wife Elizabeth Barnard Sole executor to this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal this 22nd day of October one thousand eight hundred and fifty

Elizabeth Barnard of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Widow the sole executrix in this will named was duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual and that the goods chattels and accounts of the deceased within the Diocese of Leicester do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds and that the deceased died on the twenty fourth day of October last past
