This is the last Will and Testament of me John Barnard of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Grazier

First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to by fully paid

I Give and bequeath the whole of my Stock cattle chattels household furniture money and securities for money and all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever unto my two friends William Collett of Welby in the said County of Leicester and William Cooke of Long Clawson in the same County Farmers their executors administrators and assigns Upon Trust that they the said William Collett and William Cooke or the survivor of them or the Executors administrators and assigns of such survivor (hereinafter called my Trustees and Trustee) do and shall carry on my Farm and otherwise employ my personal Estate to and for the benefit and advantage of my Wife Mary Barnard (dureing her Widowhood) and the bringing up of my children during their minorities and for that purpose to pay the interest profits and yearly Income thereof to my said Wife during such part of her life as she continues my Widow And from and immediately after her decease or marriage Then I direct my said Trustees or the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns to apply the interest profits and yearly Income of my said personal Estate to and for the equal benefit advantage and bringing up of all my children now born or hereafter to be born during their respective minorities in such manner and proportions as my said Trustees or the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns may deem most advisable and requisite

And upon my youngest child attaining to his or her age of twenty one years (providing my said Wife be then dead or married again) Then I direct my said Trustees or the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns to convert all my personal Estate and Effects into money and after payment of all expenses attendant thereupon to pay and divide the whole of such personal Estate and Effects unto and equally between all my children share and share alike to whom I give and bequeath the same absolutely provided and I hereby direct that in case any of my children shall depart this life in the lifetime of my said Wife or under the age of twenty years leaving lawfull issue then I direct that the original and accruing share or shares of such of them so dying shall go and be equally divided between the issue of such deceased child or children such issue however only taking amongst them what would have been their deceased parents share if living

I hereby further empower my said Trustees or the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns after the death or marriage of my said Wife (or during her Widowhood with her consent) to raise any part or parts of the expectant presumptive or vested share or fortune of any child under the trusts hereinbefore contained not exceeding in the whole for any such child one half part of his or her presumptive or vested share or fortune and apply the same for his or her advancement or benefit

I direct that my said Wife shall have the use of my household furniture during her Widowhood and that an Inventory thereof (to be kept by my said Trustees) be taken after my decease and signed by her as being in her possession

And Lastly I hereby appoint the said William Collect and William Cooke Trustees and Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all others by me heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said John Barnard the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this twenty second day of July one thousand eight hundred and sixty two

Proved at Leicester the second day of March 1866 by the oaths of William Collett and William Cooke the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator John Barnard was late of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Grazier and died on the twenty third day of December 1865 at Abb Kettleby aforesaid
