This is the last Will of me James Barlow of Chadwell Leicestershire Farmer

I give and bequeath all the personal Estate of which I shall die possessed unto my Daughter Sarah subject to the payment of my Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences and to the following Legacies

I bequeath One hundred Pounds to my Daughter Betsey Chambers to be paid to her for her sole and separate use at the expiration of 12 Months from my death

I direct that my said Daughter Sarah shall place out at Interest on good real or Government Security or on guaranteed Railway or India Stock the sum of One hundred Pounds and pay the Interest or Dividends thereof to my Daughter Ann Gibson during her life, and after her death to pay the Interest or Dividends thereof to my Grandson John Gibson during his life and after his death to pay the principal to my Granddaughter Betsey Gibson absolutely if then living, and if she shall be dead Upon Trust for the said principal to sink into the residue of my personal Estate for the benefit of my Daughter Sarah

I direct that the Interest or Dividends of the said Trust Legacy shall be paid into my Daughter Ann’s own hands, that her receipts only shall be good discharges for the same and that such interest shall not be subject to the controul Debts or Engagements of any husband of hers, and that she shall have no Power to sell assign or anticipate such life Interest

And I appoint my said Daughter Sarah Barlow Executrix of this my Will

Signed and published by the said Testator in the presence of us who at his Request in his Presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses, the word “Sarah” having been first interlined between the 13th and 14th lines of this Will

Proved at Leicester on the Fifth day of June 1877 by the Oath of Sarah Barlow Spinster the Daughter the sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted

The Testator James Barlow was late of Chadwell in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the Twenty third day of February 1877 at Chadwell aforesaid
