This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Barke of Stathern in the County of Leicester Innkeeper

I devise my Public House known as “The Red Lion” with the Garden and appurtenances thereto belonging situate at Stathern aforesaid in my own occupation and all other (if any) the Real Estate of which I shall die possessed to my Wife Jemima Barke and her assigns during such part of her life as she shall remain my Widow she keeping the buildings in tenantable repair and insured against damage by fire to the full value thereof

And after her death or marriage again whichever shall first happen I devise my said Real Estate to my reputed son Henry Barke otherwise Freck his heirs and assigns for ever but subject to and charged with the payment at the expiration of six months from the death or marriage again of my said Wife of the following sums (namely)

To my Son James Barke Fifty Pounds To my Daughter Mary Elizabeth the wife of Titus Littler Fifty Pounds and to my Son William Barke Fifty Pounds Provided always and I hereby declare that in case any of my said children James Mary Elizabeth and William shall die in my lifetime or during the Widowhood of my said Wife leaving a Child or Children living at my or her death or her second marriage then and in such case such last mentioned child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the Legacy or sum of money which his her or their parent would have taken if such parent had been living at the time appointed for the payment of the said Legacy or sum of money

I bequeath all my Furniture and other Household effects stock in Trade money securities for money and all other my Personal Estate to my Cousin William Jackson of Eastwell in the County of Leicester Farmer and my Son in law the said Titus Littler Upon trust to pay thereout my Funeral and Testamentary expenses and Debts and to permit my said Wife to have the use and enjoyment of such part of my said Personal Estate as shall not yield income and to invest the residue thereof and pay the income arising therefrom to my said Wife during such part of her life as she shall remain my Widow and on her death or marriage again whichever shall first happen I direct my Trustees to pay and transfer my said Personal Estate to my said reputed Son Henry Barke otherwise Freck to whom I bequeath the same accordingly

I appoint the said William Jackson and Titus Littler Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former Testamentary dispositions by me at anytime heretofore made

Signed and declared by the above named Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as attesting Witnesses

Proved at Leicester on the eighth day of February 1892 by the Oaths of William Jackson and Titus Littler the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Henry Barke was late of Stathern in the County of Leicester Innkeeper and died on the thirteenth day of June 1891 at Stathern aforesaid
