This is the last Will and Testament of me James Bampton of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer

I give and devise All my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate situate at Stathern aforesaid unto my Nephew James Bampton of Cropwell Bishop in the County of Nottingham his heirs and assigns for ever Subject to the payment of the Legacies and Annuity hereinafter mentioned

I give and bequeath unto John Cutler Bickley of Melton Mowbray in the said County of Leicester Gentleman the sum of One thousand pounds

Unto my Nephew William Bampton the sum of One hundred pounds

To my Nephews and Nieces William Marriott John Marriott Mary Sidney Ann Jackson Mary Hallam Sarah Shepperson and James Freck the sum of Nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings each All which said Legacies I direct to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named at the expiration of six calendar months after my death

I give and bequeath unto my Servant Ann Holmes now living with me an Annuity of Ten Pounds (free of Legacy duty and Income Tax and all other expense whatsoever) during her life and to be paid to her half yearly by my Executor hereinafter named the first such payment to be made at the expiration of six calendar months after my death

I also give to the said Ann Holmes the sum of Five pounds for Mourning (free from Legacy duty and all other expense whatsoever) to be paid to her at my death

I give and bequeath All my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever (subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expences) unto my Nephew the said James Bampton and I appoint him Sole Executor of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty ninth day of April in the year One thousand eight hundred and sixty eight

Proved at Leicester the Eighteenth day of December 1868 by the Oath of James Bampton Nephew of the deceased the sole Executor to whom Administration was granted

The Testator James Bampton was late of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the twenty first day of October 1868 at Stathern aforesaid
