William Awood of Scalford 1712 Will

In the name of God Amen the 27th day of December 1704 I William Awood [“of Scalford” missing] in the county of Leicester being sick in body but of good & perfect memory blessed be God do make, constitute, ordain & declare this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following and first I give & commit my soul unto Almighty God my saviour and Redeemer, and my Body to be decently buried, and as for my Temporal Estate and such goods and chattels as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I do order give and dispose the same in manner and form following that is to say

First I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Wife Mary Awood for the term of her life the cottage that I now dwell in in Scalford with the Lands Commons, Pastures & Appurtenances thereunto belonging that are now in my possession, and after my wifes decease I give the same unto my Daughter Ann Dunmore and her Heirs for ever

Item I give unto my aforesd wife all my goods and chattells stock and Household stuff whatsoever excepting my old Bible with Clasps which I give unto my Daughter Anns eldest son to wit John Dunmore and excepting one Chest which I give unto my daughter Anns second son Richard Dunmore

Item my Will is that my Daughter Anns four children to wit John and Richard, Mary and Ann shall have each of them ten shillings which I give them as Legacies and I order my wife Mary to pay the aforesaid moneys unto my Daughter Ann Dunmore or her Husband in twelve months time after my decease which said moneys I desire it may be laid out in sheep by their father or mother soon after they have received it for the aforesd childrens use

Item I make and ordain my aforesd wife full and sole executrix of this my last will and Testament and I utterly revoke & annul by these presents all & every Testament & Testaments Will & Wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writeing and this is to be taken only for my last Will and Testament & no other
